Lena Mucchetti

A theatre artist, photographer, and parent, Lena is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame with degrees in English and Film, Television, & Theatre. Lena has worked as an actor, director, stage manager, and makeup artist for many Philadelphia area companies, and has directed high school and college students in the Delaware area for the last decade. Lena also created and directed a cabaret program to allow students to hone their performance skills in the summer months and to each get a chance to shine in their own spotlight. She has a passion for working with students and emerging theatre artists, and thanks her children for their willingness to share her and their enthusiastic recognition of the value of theatre, and expresses her deepest gratitude to the two men in her life, Tom and Newton, for their unwavering faith in her, their dedication to making meaningful artistic experiences in any circumstances she throws at them, and for bringing music to life and light in the dark.
Tom Mucchetti

Tom can be heard across the Delaware/Philadelphia region as a music director, conductor, pianist, organist, and private voice teacher. He has worked for various professional and community theatre companies in the region as well as local high schools and colleges. During the day, Tom works at Bank of America as a Finance Executive supporting Lending Products. Tom has also served as the music director at St. Margaret of Scotland Parish in Newark, DE and holds a degree in music from the University of Notre Dame. His enthusiasm and commitment to music and theatre stems from a deep-rooted belief that each has the power to drive change for the better and a desire to be an agent of that change. He is thankful to wife and sons for their unwavering support, their unceasing encouragement, and their shared commitment to creating meaningful art.
Newton Buchanan

Newton Buchanan is a Barrymore Award nominated based actor, an educator, theatre producer, and Co-Founder of New Light Theatre and the Black Theatre Alliance of Philadelphia. With a talent for making strong interpersonal connections and a central belief that anything is possible if you lead with curiosity and patience, he endeavors to make an impact by working on projects that affect positive change in others' lives. Newton wields an established eight years of experience in clinical simulation education/technologies and clinical research. Newton holds many lighting design and sound design credits from various professional theatre companies in the region. His clinical simulation career involves him in a host of national and international societies for which he is an active member, and a published researcher.

A graduate of Goucher College, Carlyn is an actor, writer, director, stage manager, and event planner residing in Philadelphia. Carlyn spent several years working at Hedgerow Theatre where she met the NLT team, and stage managed their inaugural production, Next to Normal. As an event coordinator, Carlyn has crafted academic events, weddings, and films, and held positions at Norfolk Botanical Garden, Sundance Film Festival, and, currently, at University of Pennsylvania Law School.

Elsa Kegelman is a Delaware-born actor, singer, theatre educator, and social media maven. Elsa received her BFA in Drama from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts where studied acting with the Stella Adler Studio. Elsa has been with NLT from the beginning, playing Natalie in the company's first production, Next to Normal in 2018, and joined the team as the social media manager with the formation of the company.
