New Light Theatre presents Fun Home, at OperaDelaware Studios in Wilmington, DE, March 8-17th

Fun Home is the Tony Award-winning musical adapted from lesbian cartoonist Alison Bechdel’s groundbreaking graphic autobiography. Alison’s upbringing was a bit unusual, playing in the family’s funeral parlor, lovingly nicknamed the “fun home,” while she and her family tiptoed around her father, Bruce, a particular, brilliant, and temperamental man whose secrets and self-loathing consume him. Moving between past and present, a now grown Alison reflects on her past, she struggles to make sense of her relationship with her father, while also reliving memories of her own coming of age, self-discovery, and self-acceptance as she learns to embrace her identity in a way her father could not.

Fun Home is a one act musical, running approximately 90 minutes with no intermission. To keep our cast safe, masking is encouraged in the theatre. Sunday, March 10th at 2PM is a relaxed performance with less theatrical lighting.
